Construction – Type 2 Top Opening (Non-Bullet-Resistant)

  • Exterior – 11-gauge steel construction.
  • Interior – ¾″ plywood lining on all sides.
  • Lid – Top-opening lid with 1″ overlap; two hasps with ¼″ steel lock covers.
  • Hinge – Full-length piano-type hinge; welded hinges, hasps, and staples.
  • Locks – Two padlocks with 7/16″ case-hardened shackles and 5-pin tumblers.
  • Mobility – Dolly frame with four heavy-duty casters.
  • Signage – Magnetic “Danger Explosives” sign in 3″ letters.

A Type 2 Indoor Magazine is a mobile, portable solution for the secure storage of high or low explosives indoors. These magazines meet or exceed ATF construction requirements in 27 CFR 555.208(b).

Indoor storage of high explosives must not exceed 50 lbs net explosives weight. Units are available in front-opening cabinet style or top-opening style, with options for bullet-resistant or non-bullet-resistant construction to suit specific applications.
